TRUST Launches to Support and Simplify EU
Regulatory Compliance with Trustable AI

The TRUST project, funded by the European Union under Horizon Europe, has officially launched to pioneer a new generation of trustable AI-powered regulatory compliance services. Bringing together major stakeholders, including SME alliances, DPO associations, supervisory authorities, industry, researchers, and academic experts, TRUST aims to help organisations better understand, manage, and demonstrate compliance with European regulations.

For SMEs and DPOs operating across EU markets, compliance often means keeping pace with overlapping obligations related to data protection, cybersecurity, AI, and sectorspecific legislation. TRUST aims to turn regulatory compliance into a competitive
advantage through a user-centric digital platform of trustable AI tools that help organisations identify relevant obligations, assess compliance risks, monitor regulatory developments, prepare compliance documentation, and access a Seal of TRUST certification.

Over the next three years, TRUST will pursue three main objectives:

1. Increasing the Reliability of AI for Legal Guidance
   TRUST will develop advanced AI tools with an Enhanced LLM Abstraction Layer, designed to improve the reliability of AI-generated legal and regulatory guidance. By combining specialised legal knowledge sources with innovative AI approaches, the project aims to reduce inaccuracies and provide more trustworthy compliance support for organisations.
2. Supporting Regulatory Compliance with an Online Platform of Services
   TRUST will develop an online platform providing practical services to help organisations better understand and manage regulatory compliance. These services will support users in identifying applicable obligations, assessing compliance risks, preparing mandatory reports, monitoring regulatory developments, and facilitating compliance assessments. TRUST services will help users navigate complex regulatory requirements with greater confidence, efficiency, and trust.
3. Turning Compliance into a Competitive Advantage
   TRUST aims to transform regulatory compliance from a burden into a source of value creation. To achieve this, the project will develop the Seal of Trust, an innovative certification framework designed to help organisations demonstrate compliance, strengthen trust, and enhance their competitiveness.

Consortium

Coordinated by Mandat International, TRUST brings together 19 partners from across Europe, including research institutions, data protection authorities, certification bodies, industry associations, and technology providers. Together, they combine complementary expertise in artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, data protection, certification, and regulatory compliance to ensure that TRUST solutions are both innovative and aligned with real-world needs.
